Dyffryn School Eco-Schools

We have been a Green Flag school for over 8 years now and are aiming for the Platinum Award in the next twelve months. This is the highest award given by Keep Britain Tidy! It is an acknowledgement of our continuous effort to address the eight key Eco-School issues as well as having a positive impact on our local community.

Our Eco-groups meet regularly and our main focus this term is litter.

We are aiming to reduce the amount of litter in school and our local environment by raising awareness and actively encouraging the correct use of bins. We will be adapting bins, arranging litter monitors, and starting a regular litter pick in our local area.

A part of the eco-groups role is to monitor the schools energy and water usage.

We can all help reduce our schools carbon footprint and water usage by simply TURNING OFF! Remember to turn off lights, computers, and taps when not needed.
